Why Django
Batteries included: authentication, an admin area, migrations, internationalisation and a mature ORM out of the box. It is the framework behind Instagram, Mozilla and countless German Mittelstand tools because it lets a small team ship real software quickly and keep it safe with one clear upgrade path. For a business that needs a portal, an internal tool or a data-heavy site, it is the most boring choice available – which is the compliment.
New builds and rescues
We start new projects on the current LTS release and take over existing ones stuck on old versions: dependency upgrades, test coverage, performance fixes, and a deployment that does not depend on the person who left. A rescue starts with an audit – what is there, what is at risk, what it costs to fix – and ends with a plan to stabilise and hand back, or to keep developing with us. APIs and modern front ends
Server-rendered templates with HTMX for most apps – fast, simple, accessible, no build pipeline; Django REST Framework APIs when a mobile app or a React/Vue front end needs them. We pick the lighter option that still fits, and we say when the heavier one is genuinely required.
Working with your team
As an extra pair of hands, for code reviews, or to lead a feature: we work in your repository with your workflow, on a retainer of two to three days a week or per scoped feature. The freelance page describes how those engagements work and what they cost.
When Django is not the right choice
A five-page marketing site does not need a framework at all – it needs fast static HTML, which is how we build those. A pure API with no users or admin is often lighter in FastAPI. A shop with standard products is usually better served by Shopify than by a custom build. We say so on the first call; a Django project you did not need is the most expensive kind.

Do you also do Flask, FastAPI or Node?
- FastAPI for lean APIs and services, yes. For full applications with users, permissions and an admin area, Django is our recommendation and specialty.

What does a Django upgrade cost?
- It depends on how many versions and how many dependencies: a small app from Django 3 to the current LTS is usually a few days; a large one on Django 1.x with custom packages is a scoped project. The audit tells you which.

Where do you host Django apps?
- On German or EU servers – Hetzner by default, or your own infrastructure – with Docker, backups and monitoring.
