Hourly and day rates

Senior freelance web developers in Germany charge between €80 and €130 an hour; day rates run from €650 to €1,000. For retainers we work on a day rate (on request), two to three days a week, and on fixed prices for scoped features and projects. Agencies get a partner rate for recurring work. Ask for the current rate card; there are no hidden extras, and travel is only billed for on-site days you ask for.

White-label for agencies

Design agencies and marketing studios book us for the build: your brand, your client relationship, our code. We join your Slack or Teams, work in your repository, and hand over a documented, tested result your client never sees a third name on. We do not contact or poach your clients – that is the deal, and it is in the contract.

How engagements work

Scoped projects at a fixed price, or a monthly retainer of fixed days for ongoing product work – usually two to three days a week for three months at a time, with a renewal option. Contracts under German law, invoices with VAT, availability agreed up front. Remote is the default; on-site days in Freiburg, Basel or Stuttgart when a kick-off or a workshop benefits from them. For a whole product built from scratch, the web app page is the better starting point.

Scheinselbstständigkeit – how we handle it

German law looks closely at freelancers who work like employees. We keep the engagement clearly independent: multiple clients at the same time, our own tools and infrastructure, results-based contracts with defined deliverables, no integration into your org chart, no fixed office hours set by you. We are happy to align the contract wording with your legal team before the first day.

What a good freelance brief contains

The goal in one sentence, the repository and the stack, what "done" looks like, who reviews and merges, the deadline that actually matters, and the days per week you need. With that we quote within two days – a fixed price for a scoped feature, a day rate and a start date for a retainer. Without it, every freelancer you ask will quote the wrong thing.
